QUEEN BUNA is a young but aspiring company, focused on selling freshly roasted coffee beans and proud to work with excellent coffee roasters who pay huge attention to environmental and ethical matters. They have built sustainable partnerships with organic farmers who place great value on top quality and good working conditions. It is characterised by love, fairness and sustainability.
Their core company value is to provide with the freshest and most delicious cup of coffee. The coffee cherries are harvested by experienced coffee farmers by hand and sorted carefully. The 100% Arabica beans are roasted evenly which give this fine coffee its slightly sweet flavor, with hints of chocolate, nuts, and caramel. Some may also notice hints of fruit and berries.
Traditional, wood-fired roasting method results in a roasting time that takes three to four times longer than modern methods, but which allows coffee to retain many of the natural compounds by preserving more of the flavours within the beans. This slow roasting process results in coffee that is lower in acidity.
Queen Buna’s identity was inspired by the classical themes of Ethiopia, globally known as the birthplace of coffee, as also by the beauty of Ethiopian women. The word ‘Buna’ is derived by the most common way Ethiopians drink their coffee - Buna meaning coffee-making ceremony that involves roasting, grinding and brewing beans while partaking in a community-oriented tradition.
